Born
Juanita Dale in 1935, green eyed 38-22-36 Texan Candy Barr became
a Las Vegas and Dallas stripper in the early 1950's. As Juanita
Slusher, she starred in the famous stag film "The Smart Aleck" in
1951.
She knew Jack Ruby and Hugh Hefner, who she was rumored to have
had a brief fling with. She was briefly married to Billy Joe Dabbs,
a safecracker. In 1956 she shot and wounded her violent second husband
Troy Phillips, and was framed for drugs in 1957.
After a lengthy appeal, which the Supreme Court refused to take,
she served a 3 year sentence. Named for her penchant of showing
up for work eating a candy bar, the legendary stripper retired to
her native Texas in the 1970's.
